In Gujarat, four persons were detained by Ahmedabad Crime Branch for allegedly spreading rumours about Union Minister Amit Shah’s health through a fake Twitter account in his name.
Addressing a press conference, Ahmedabad Crime Branch special Commissioner Ajay Tomar said 4 suspects, two each from Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad have been detained and they are being questioned.
A case has been registered in this regard under sections 66(c) (punishment for identity theft) and 66(d) (cheating by personation using computer resource) of the Information Technology Act.
