On the direction from the centre, Director of AIIMS New Delhi, Dr Randeep Guleria and senior medical expert Dr Manish Suneja reached Ahmedabad yesterday night to provide expert guidance to the medical teams. Following the rapid rise in the number of cases in Gujarat, the state government had asked centre to send experts to the state.
Both the doctors held meetings with government officials including Principal Secretary of Health Department Dr Jayanti Ravi at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. They provided expert guidance to the resident doctors on the treatment of Covid 19 patients.
Later in a day, both the doctors will visit AMC run SVP hospital to give advice to doctors on Covid 19 management. Official Sources said the doctors will address a press conference in the evening. The state has so far reported over 7000 cases and 449 deaths due to Covid 19 out of which over 5000 cases and 343 deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad alone.
