The 18 AIADMK dissident MLAs who were disqualified yesterday by the Tamil Nadu speaker have approached the Madras High Court seeking to nullify their disqualification.
On behalf of the Dhinakaran loyalists, their counsel made a mention before Justice M.Duraisamy and asked the court to take it up for urgent hearing. The judge directed the disqualified legislators to file their petitions in writing and assured to take it up tomorrow.
The 18 MLAs loyal to the AIADMK’s sidelined leader TTV Dhinakaran were disqualified by Speaker P Dhanapal yesterday saying their letter to the Governor expressing their loss of trust on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy amounts to defection.
