12 Maoists were killed in an ambush late last night near Bakoria Village in the border area of Palamu and Latehar Districts in Jharkhand. Police was informed about the Maoists moving towards the village in a vehicle. Acting on the tip off, police surrounded the area and zeroed in on the Maoists who opened fire. The police retaliated and 12 Maoists were gunned down. No one from the police side is reported to have been killed or injured.
Police has sealed the area and the search operation is on to nab the other Maoists who managed to flee during the ambush taking advantage of darkness and dense forest. Jharkhand Police spokesperson, SN Pradhan said, arms and ammunition were also recovered.
