‘Modi Kaka Ka Gaon’ to be released on 29 December

Modi Kaka Ka Gaon, a film believed to be inspired by prime minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda is all set to hit the silver screens on Friday December 29.

Earlier the the film was denied certification for public exhibition on various grounds. However Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave certificate to the film in late November.

“In the first phase, the film will be released on around 600 screens in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, east Punjab and Uttarakhand. The rest of the country will be covered soon thereafter,” producer Suresh K Jha told media.

Promos, posters and banners went up on prominent roads and in several cinema halls and multiplexes in Mumbai city and suburbs, besides other cities in the country this week, heralding Modi Kaka Ka Gaon.

Jha said the film is “not a biopic on Modi”, but the story has been inspired by the prime minister’s vision and agenda for the country’s progress.

The film-maker had trouble in getting the censor certificate from CBFC as its then chairman Pahlaj Nihalani had declined to certify the film on various grounds and set a precondition of a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Prime Minister’s Office and Election Commission of India.

Jha then wrote to the PMO and ECI, but the two did not respond, thereafter, he moved the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal and won the case there in October.
