Prime Minister Narendra Modi has saluted the service of civilian and defence officials and organisations in helping evacuate Indian citizens from Yemen. In a series of tweets, Mr Modi expressed his happiness that India has rescued several non-Indian citizens as well.
He praised the seamless co-operation between Ministry of External Affairs, Navy, Air Force, Air India, Shipping, Railways and the State Governments. Mr Modi said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh have co-ordinated evacuation efforts in an exemplary manner.
