CJP Demands Arrest of those involved in Killing

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has demanded the immediate arrest of those allegedly responsible for an assault in West Bengal that resulted in the death of Mafik, father of CJP volunteer Shaik Abdul Hafeez.
According to a statement issued by the CJP, 25-year-old Hafeez was allegedly attacked after taking part in the party’s “School Thik Karo” campaign at a government school in his village in the Karisunda area of Bankura district on August 13. The campaign involves citizens inspecting government schools and highlighting deficiencies in infrastructure and educational facilities.
The CJP said Mafik died on August 15 after suffering serious head injuries during the alleged assault at the family’s residence.
Alleged Attack After School Inspection
According to the CJP, Hafeez had visited the local government school as part of the nationwide “School Thik Karo” campaign to assess the condition of its infrastructure.
The organisation alleged that later that evening, armed individuals identified by the family as local BJP workers forcibly entered Hafeez’s residence.
The CJP said Hafeez subsequently alleged in a video recorded from hospital that a school teacher had informed the political workers about his inspection of the school, following which the alleged attackers arrived at his home.
According to the organisation, the attackers allegedly pressured Hafeez to record a video apologising for drawing attention to the school’s condition and claiming that he had undertaken the inspection at the behest of outside forces.
The CJP alleged that when Hafeez refused, the individuals assaulted members of his family. Hafeez reportedly sustained a serious neck injury, while his father suffered severe blunt-force trauma to the head.
Hafeez Allegedly Fled to Kolkata
The CJP said Hafeez recorded a video from hospital showing his injuries after the incident. It further alleged that he later left for Kolkata because of continuing concerns over his safety.
His father, Mafik, subsequently died from his injuries on August 15, according to the organisation. CJP founder and national convener Abhijeet Dipke condemned the alleged attack and demanded immediate arrests.
“We will not be silenced and intimidated. We will keep fighting for better schools. CJP stands firmly with Abdul and his family. We demand the immediate arrest of those responsible for his father’s death,” Dipke said.
He added that a CJP team would visit West Bengal and work to ensure that Hafeez and his family received justice.
CJP Seeks Investigation
CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das also expressed concern over the incident and alleged that the attackers were linked to the BJP.
“We are very concerned for Abdul. His father has died at the hands of goons who allegedly belong to the BJP. What was his crime? That he planned on conducting a social audit of his local government school,” Das said.
He appealed to the West Bengal Police to take immediate action against those responsible.
The CJP further alleged that no medico-legal case was initiated and no FIR was registered following the initial assault. The organisation has called for an impartial investigation into the alleged attack, the circumstances surrounding Mafik’s death and the alleged failure to initiate legal proceedings.
It also demanded that the Indas police station take immediate steps to apprehend those accused and provide security to Hafeez and his family.
CJP Delegation to Visit Bengal
The organisation said a delegation of its National Working Committee, led by co-convener Ashutosh Ranka, would visit West Bengal to express solidarity with Hafeez and his family and demand accountability.
The “School Thik Karo” campaign was launched by Dipke to draw attention to the condition of government schools and press for improvements in infrastructure and education. Under the initiative, citizens are encouraged to visit government schools, assess their facilities and bring shortcomings to public attention.
The allegations made by the CJP regarding the assault, the involvement of individuals linked to the BJP and the alleged failure to register an FIR could not be independently verified from the information provided.
