Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the 66th All India Kalidas Samaroh in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, today. Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, and Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Nyas Ayodhya Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj were present at the ceremony.

Kalidas Alankaran Samman for the year 2022-2023 was presented during the program. A total of eight scholars were honoured in four genres.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said that in the works of Mahakavi Kalidas, a wonderful confluence of human emotions, an unbreakable relationship between man and nature, and the purity of love are seen. He said that the great poet has written about today’s burning issue of environmental protection in his texts, according to which environmental protection and creation are necessary for our existence.

The Vice President said that the Kalidas Samman is an honour to the culture of India. He said that a society which cannot uphold its culture does not last long.

This event, which will continue until 18th November, will feature discussions on the works of Mahakavi Kalidas and many other topics. Along with this, various cultural programs will be organized.
