Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is on a two-day visit to Kerala, will inaugurate the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Kerala Legislative Assembly building in Thiruvananthapuram today. He will also release a souvenir of the Kerala Legislature International Book Festival.

This is Jagdeep Dhankhar’s first visit to the state as the Vice President of India. Later today, the Vice President will visit Kannur to meet his teacher, Ms. Rathna Nair, at her residence in Thalassery. Ms. Nair had taught Mr.Dhankhar when he was a student at Sainik School in Chittorgarh.

The Vice President will also visit the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala in Kannur and interact with the cadets.

Mr. Dhankhar, who arrived in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday for his maiden visit to Kerala, has received a grand welcome in the state. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, State Minister Antony Raju, and other dignitaries received him at the airport.

The Vice President was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival. Mr. Dhankhar visited the famous Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday.
