The US has said it wants to see tension reduced between India and Pakistan, but made it clear that it is for the two nations to resolve their differences bilaterally.

State Department Spokesperson John Kirby told this in his daily news conference in Washington. Kirby was responding to a question on remarks made by Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s special assistance Tariq Fatemi that he was knocking the doors of the Obama administration and the US Congress to intervene in the India-Pakistan conflict.

However, Mr. Kirby refused to entertain questions about a possible US role in improving India-Pakistan relationship.
