The three major US indices ended lower yesterday as the upbeat December U.S. retail sales data eroded expectations that the Federal Reserve will kick off its rate-cut campaign as early as March.
The S&P 500 declined 0.7 percent, the Nasdaq Composite index lost 0.6 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3 percent.
