One of the Seven Wonders of the World Taj Mahal, failed to find a place in tourism booklet of Yogi Adityanath’s government.

Uttar Pradesh government released a booklet to mark six months of Yogi Adityanath becoming UP CM. However, UP administration dropped Taj Mahal from the booklet.

The catalog which was released by the Tourism Minister Rita Bahuguna mentioned important tourist destination including Gorakhpur temple. It also includes plans for a tour of monuments and locations central to the Ramayana.

Shakti peeths (temples) also finds a place in the booklet along with a description of Ramayana and Buddha circuits, Deccan Herald reports.

Reacting to it, opposition leaders said that this step of UP government proves that it is against Muslims. They also alleged that government neglect monuments that belonged to a particular religion.

Justifying its stand, State Tourism Department said that Taj Mahal is not neglected and the booklet is only for the press conference.

Talking on this issue, Mr. Avanish Awasthi of UP Tourism Department said that there are already many projects going on at Taj Mahal which includes parking project, Taj Agra fort linkage project and others.

It may be mentioned that in the month of June this year, Yogi Adityanath said, “Taj Mahal does not reflect Indian Culture”. He also claimed that this is the reason why officials of the government gift copies of Gita and Ramayan instead Taj Mahal replica to foreign delegates.
