The Uttar Pradesh Government has transferred 70 IPS officers including several district police chiefs. 34 districts out of 75 district of state got new police superintendents.
According to state home department several director general rank officers have also given changed assignments. Including other districts, police superintendents of Allahabad, Amethi, Mathura, Faizabad, and Muzaffarnagar has been changed.
Senior police officers of DG ranks also got reallocation. GP Sharma has made DG -CBCID, PK Tiwari will be chairman of Police Awas Nigam, and VK Gupta is posted as DG Home guards. The mass transfer of senior police officers is being seen as part of pre-election exercise by state government.
