In Uttar Pradesh, at least ten people, including six women and three children, died, and several others were injured after an auto they were travelling in was hit by a truck in the Hardoi district. Superintendent of Police Hardoi, Neeraj Jadaun, said the incident occurred in Hardoi’s Roshanpur village, and the exact cause will only be confirmed after a thorough investigation.
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed condolences for the loss of lives in the road mishap. The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia of 2 lakh rupees from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased. The injured will be given 50,000 rupees. Mr Modi wished for the speedy recovery of all the injured.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the incident and instructed officials to provide all possible help to the injured.
