Ten persons have been arrested from Kanpur for allegedly preparing fake Aadhaar cards using equipments and devices and ignoring proper process.
According to reports on a FIR lodged by Deputy Director UIDAI at Lucknow Special Task Force of state police had initiated probe and busted the racket. FIRs are also lodged at Deoria and Kushinagar districts in this regard.
Triveni Singh Additional SP STF told our correspondent that initially the gang had prepared Aadhaar Cards using biometric machines but later on they had developed new client applications for the purpose.
The gang used to hack biometric security settings of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) through cloned fingerprints and tamper application client source for preparing the fake Aadhaar cards.
Mr Singh told that 11 laptops, scanners, finger scanner devices, retina scanners and other materials have been seized from the arrested alleged culprits. Arrested youths are from Kanpur, Fatehpur, Mainpuri, Hardoi and Azamgarh districts.
The UIDAI CEO, Ajay Bhushan Pandey assured that enrollments which were trying to made in fraudulent manner have been rejected.
