Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J. P. Nadda has hailed the increased allocation for health sector in the Union budget 2017-18.Addressing a press conference in Dehradun today, he said over 47 thousand crore Rupees has been allocated which is nearly 10 thousand crore more than the last budgetary allocation.
Mr. Nadda said that this increase will help states and union territories because they would get more funds from the ministry to strengthen the health sector. He said more focus will be given on rural health schemes and capacity building as well as infrastructure would be provided in wellness centres.
The Union Health Minister further said that elimination of Leprosy, Malaria, Kala Azar and Tuberculosis are on the top of agenda of his ministry and during past years the immunisation for different diseases has been increased by 7 per cent.
