Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena leaders arrived at the Raj Bhavan soon after Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was elected as the Chief Minister candidate of ‘Maha Vikas Aghad, MVA.

After the election as legislature party leader, Uddhav Thackeray said: I accept the responsibility given by all of you. I’m not alone but you all are CM with me. What has happened today is the actual democracy. Together we will wipe off the tears of farmers in the state. I’m ready to answer all questions raised by Devendra Fadnavis. I am not scared of anything. Lies are not part of Hindutva. When needed you hug us and when not needed you leave us. You tried to keep us away.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress alliance has announced Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray as their leader and Chief Ministerial candidate. The decision was announced at the tri-party meeting held in Mumbai.

Soon after Devendra Fadnavis’ resignation, BJP MLA Kalidas Kolambkar took oath as the pro-tem speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

The Governor has called a special session of the Assembly tomorrow where floor test will be conducted after the pro-tem speaker administers the oath to the 288 newly-elected members.

The session will begin at 8 am.

Following the oath, the pro-tem speaker will call for the floor test.

The newly-elected members could not take oath even after one month since the results of the assembly polls were announced, due to political see-saw in the state.
