Welcoming the Uttarakhand high court today’s verdict, deposed chief minister Harish Rawat said: “In the end, truth wins. We respect the verdict of the high court.”
On Thursday the Uttarakhand high court set aside President’s Rule in the state and asked for floor test on april 29.
“We welcome the verdict. The whole country knows who was behind the political instability in the state,” Rawat told media in Dehradun.
“I still say that we are ready to forget this chapter and I appeal to Centre to support us in our development,” he added.
“In the end, truth wins. We respect the verdict of the high court,” he had tweeted after the HC gave its verdict.
The Congress leader also thanked all the party legislators who stood by him during the political crisis.
The HC quashed President’s Rule in the state and has ordered floor test in the assembly on April 29. A division bench of the high court headed by chief Justice KM Joseph said the imposition of the President’s rule was contrary to the law laid down by the Supreme Court.
