The All India Tibbi Congress, the sole representative body of Unani practitioners in the country, has demanded that the Central Government should expedite the process of establishing AYUSH Pharmacy Council of India and introduce two more faculties in the National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bangalore so as it will get the status of National Unani University. Tibbi Congress also reiterated its demand that the Delhi’s local government should fill the Deputy Director post in the AYUSH department which has been lying vacant since a long time.

Image result for UNANI INDIAN AWAAZThese demands were made at its 25th General Body meeting on Sunday here  presided over by national president Dr Mushtaq Ahmad. In his presidential remarks, Dr Mushtaq said All India Tibbi Congress has been consistently working for the protection and promotion of Unani cause and adding that because of Tibbi Congres’ tireless struggle, Unani fraternity regained its due place under the sun.  He further said that Tibbi Congress has been reckoned with other medicines’ bodies as a representative body of Unani medicine in the country. The infusion of new blood in the organization has galvanized the Tibbi Congress that is a good omen for the future of the organization, he added.

While bringing to light the performances of All India Institute of Unani Medical Sciences, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine, National Institute of Unani Medicine and Central Council of Indian Medicine, Dr Mushtaq said the future of Unani medicine is bright and safe  and it is gaining popularity not only in India but also in abroad. However, he urged the Unani practitioners to work diligently and selflessly for the promotion of Unani system.

On the occasion, Maulana Mohammad Rahmani said treating patients is a very noble job but this noble profession has earned notoriety as some greedy doctors who have no fear of God, give exaggerated and unnecessary prescription for minor ailments.

Tibbi Congress secretary general Dr Syed Ahmad Khan presented the report card of the organization and he suggested that for realizing the dream of the National Unani University, we should ask the government to add two more faculties in the National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bangalore.

The General Body unanimously passed a host of resolutions including to make AYUSH department more proactive; to set up AYUSH Pharmacy Council of India; all state governments should appoint Deputy Director in their respective AYUSH departments and reconstitution of Bhartiya Chikista Parishad. It pointed out that in the absence of Chikista Parishad, Unani and Ayurvedic doctors have been facing lot of problems.

On the occasion, Unicef representative Dr Muzaffar Husain Ghazali has assured that he will make all efforts to get include Unani doctors in Unicef mission.
