Taslima Nasreen’s visa for India extended

The India’s Home Ministry has extended the visa of controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen for one year, with effect from 23rd of next month. Official sources said, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today gave approval for the visa extension.

Taslima, now a citizen of Sweden, has been getting Indian visa on a continuous basis since 2004. The sources said, her visa has been further extended on the basis of the Swedish passport. Taslima is living in exile since she left Bangladesh in 1994 in the wake of threats to her by fundamentalist groups.
