External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has taken up with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh the case of alleged rape of an Israeli woman in Manali. In a tweet Mrs Swaraj said she spoke to the Chief Minister and got the details about the incident.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Police arrested two men yesterday in connection with the alleged rape of the 25-year-old Israeli woman. State Director General of Police said police found the car, suspected to have been used in the crime from Kullu and arrested two accused Akshay Rana and Pankaj Sharma. He said, a manhunt has been launched to nab the other accused.
in a police complaint, the victim had alleged that the accused offered her lift in their car while she was waiting for a cab to get to Lahaul to reunite with friends who had already left for the nearby town. She said there were six persons in the car and two of them allegedly raped her. A case was registered in Manali police station on her complaint.
