NEW DELHI: (AMN) Several states have taken strict security measures to foil any terror attack after a warning from centre. The Home Ministry has sounded a country-wide terror alert, especially for Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa and Bangalore, after getting intelligence inputs that Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba was planning to strike in coming days.  The Centre asked all the states to tighten security by deploying additional forces in all sensitive locations to prevent any terror attack. In Maharashtra and Gujarat state governments are taking all preventive measures to thwart  any nefarious attempt by the terrorists.

According to AIR, the Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa has informed that a high alert has been sounded in the state, especially in coastal districts following an alert from the Centre. Security and vigil has been scaled up in coastal areas of the state.   

Security has been beefed up in Karnataka’s 300 km long coastline especially along the New Mangalore port in Dakshina Kannada district and Karwar in Uttara Kannada district. Government sources say that places of worship and popular spots, especially those frequented by foreigners have been identified and security tightened here. Bangalore City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari has said that additional police force will be deployed at crowded places like main city and inter-state bus stand in the heart of the city, malls, shopping areas, the railway station and the airport. After the Bangalore Bomb blast and bomb explosions near the city Cricket stadium, an increased vigil and alertness has been sounded in the IT-BT capital of India.
