In a reply to social activist Anna Hazare, Mrs Gandhi said, she has already made her views clear in her earlier communications.
Mrs. Gandhi said, she believed that there was an urgent necessity to combat graft and corruption. She said that she strongly supports the institution of Lokpal that is consistent with the practices and conventions of the country’s parliamentary democracy.
Meanwhile, ahead of the eighth meeting of Joint Draft Committee on Lokpal Bill tomorrow, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal and others members representing the government held deliberations on various aspects of the bill.
