The sailors came by an Emirates flight from Dubai which landed at IGI Airport on Friday morning around 9.30 and were received by family and friends carrying garlands.

A released crew member Prashant Chauhan said he was very happy. Mr Chauhan said he waited for this moment for 10 months. The six Indian crew members released included N K Sharma from Jammu, Ravinder Singh Bhulia from Rohtak, Sachin from Mumbai, Satnam Singh from Ambala and Prashant Chauhan from Shimla and Biju.

The government has appreciated Pakistan’s help in ensuring safe return of Indian sailors. External Affairs Minister S M Krishna in a statement said all are relieved that their ordeal has ended and they would soon be safely back with their families. Mr Krishna also appreciated the timely help extended to them and sailors of other countries and by the Pakistani navy.
