An SIT comprising of personnel attached with Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested 3 people in connection with the recent violence in Delhi’s North East district.
These arrests were made after suspended AAP councillor Tahir Hussain was arrested from the Rouse Avenue court on Thursday after his surrender plea was rejected by a judge. 3 men have been identified as Tariq Rizvi, Liyakat and Riyasat. While Tariq was the manager of Tahir Hussain’s factory in Kasna and was arrested from Janki Nagar where he had been hiding since the violence, Liyakat is a resident of Chand Bagh and is an accused in the riots.
Another resident of Chand Bagh, Riyasat has also been accused of rioting.All 4 men, including Tahir Hussain, have been arrested on the basis of a complaint registered against them at the Khajuri Khas police station by one constable Sangram Singh. The men were arrested on the basis of FIR registered by constable Singh.
Delhi court extends police custody of Jaffrabad shooter Shahrukh for 3 days
Karkardooma court in Delhi on Saturday extended police custody of Mohammed Shahrukh for 3 more days. A resident of Jaffrabad in Delhi’s North East district, Shahrukh was arrested from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh earlier this month. Delhi Police had been on Shahrukh’s trail ever since a video of him waving a gun at a policeman during the recent unrest in the national capital went viral on social media platforms. Shot during the riots that broke out in several areas of northeast Delhi, including Jaffrabad, an armed Shahrukh could be seen charging at a policeman in a fit of rage. A case was registered against him but Shahrukh remained absconding until recently.
