The Directorate of Tourism, Jammu and Kishtwar Tourism Development Authority (KTDA) a two-day Sinthan Snow Festival-2023 at Sinthan Maidan, Kishtwar from today to the 30th April. The snow festival is being organized in collaboration with the District Administration Kishtwar, the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL), and the Army. Locals as well as tourists are upbeat over the event which shall feature musical performances, adventure activities, and various competitions.
The 2 day Sinthan Snow Festival-2023 will host a variety of activities like Bike Rally, Paragliding, Snow Kayaking, Fun Snow activities, Local cultural performances, and much more. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the conduct of snow activities like skiing, sledging, snow kayaking, snow scooter, etc during the festival. Further, a trekking expedition shall be organized from Pathramorh to Sinthan Maidan jointly with the Forest Department. Besides, horse riding, treasure hunt game, volleyball, marathon, and tug of war will be the other attractions.
Live performances of famous local as well as celebrity singers shall be one of the main attractions of the said festival. Kishtwar Idol Finale and Inter College Group Dance Competition shall also be held at the Festival. The Sinthan Maidan is becoming a significant hub for skiers, trekkers, etc and the festival is likely to bring this wonderful tourist spot, with stunning natural surroundings, into the limelight and capture the attention of the visitors.
Worth to mention, Sinthan Top is a mountain pass, a popular tourist destination located between Breng Valley in the Anantnag district of Kashmir division and Kishtwar district of Chenab Valley in the Jammu division. The Sinthan Top is the highest motorable mountain pass that connects Kishtwar district in Jammu division with Anantnag district in Kashmir division and is 12, 414 feet above sea level. The alpine pastures of this place have matches natural beauty. One of the most well liked tourist destinations; Sinthan Top offers a 360 degree view of both the Jammu and Kashmir regions. The Tourism Department expects enthusiastic participation of locals as well as tourists from all across the nation and this event has already evoked a tremendous response from everyone.
