Several schools in Amritsar received bomb threats via email, spreading panic among the concerned authorities and parents.
Police sources confirmed that many teams, including anti-sabotage teams, have been pressed into service, but nothing has been found on many school premises as of now. Teams from the cybercrime department are also tracing the email trail.
Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Amritsar, Alam Vijay Singh, while ensuring the security, has appealed to all not to panic.
District Education Officer (DEO), Rajesh Sharma, told Our Correspondent that all private and government schools have been closed today after sending the students back home.
