Media reports in Germany have quoted local police informing that several people have been injured and some may have been killed as shots were fired in the Olympia shopping center in Munich, southern Germany on Friday evening.
The “Süddeutsche Zeitung” newspaper said it received confirmation of the incident from the police. Police have responded with a major operation surrounding the area.
Television images of people walking away from the center have been shown. They included women and children walking quickly away. An hour after the incident began, a police spokeswoman said authorities were still evacuating people from the shopping center.
