Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit his constituency Varanasi and state capital Lucknow Friday. Elaborate security arrangements have been made as both Varanasi and Lucknow have turned into a fortress with snipers and commandos being deployed in the security cover of the PM. State DGP Javeed Ahmed told media today that fool proof security arrangements have been made in Varanasi and Lucknow for the PM’s visit.
Mr Modi will start his programme from his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi by attending a function to flag off a new luxury express train ‘Mahamana Express’ named after Pt Madan Mohan Malviya. The train will run thrice in a week between Varanasi via Jaunpur, Lucknnow to Delhi from both sides. Later he will distribute artificial limbs, tricycles and other equipment to ‘divyang’people in his constituency.
Thereafter he will reach Lucknow to attend three functions including convocation of the Bhimrao Ambedkar University, distribution of e-rickshaws and visit to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Mahasabha spending over four hours. The visit of PM to offer floral tributes at the urn of Bhimrao Ambedkar at the Ambedkar Mahasabha office is being seen as a political gesture to woo the Dalits in the wake of coming state assembly elections.
