The Supreme Court will on Wednesday hear a petition filed by congress challenging NDA government’s decision of imposing President’s rule in the state.
The party is alleging that “illegal” attempts have been made by the Centre and the Governor to topple the Nabam Tuki government.
President Pranab has signed a proclamation, imposing President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh, and kept the Legislative Assembly of the state in suspended animation.
Taking cognisance of the constitutional breakdown that has taken place in the state of Arunachal Pradesh as reported by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on January 24, 2016 had recommended to the President of India to issue such a proclamation.
