The Supreme Court today rejected the plea of sacked BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav, challenging the Election Commission’s decision to reject his nomination papers from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said it did not find any grounds to entertain the plea of Yadav. He was fielded by the Samajwadi Party from the Varanasi seat from where Prime Minister Narenda Modi is contesting. Yadav was dismissed in 2017.
