Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, will be released on February 27 from Pune’s high-security Yerawada Central Prison. Proposal for remission of Dutt’s sentence has been cleared by the Maharashtra government and he will walk out of the jail on February 27.
A senior official informed that Dutt is being given remission as per the jail manual after clearance from the Home department. Dutt was sentenced to five-year imprisonment after he was convicted for possessing an illegal weapon, which was part of the cache meant to be used during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
