After creating a controversy by posting series of tweets about the death sentence of 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts convict Yakoob Memon and the statewide uproar, bollywood actor Salman Khan today apologised unconditionally over the act and retracted his tweets.
His tweets had created an uproar at various places in Maharashtra and the actor had to delete his tweets and make a clarification over it.
Salman Khan today again created another controversy when he said that instead of Yakoob Memon, his brother Tiger Memon should be hanged in his series of tweets. After this a lot of uproar was there in many parts of the state against his comments. Public prosecutor Ujwal Nikam had also raised strong objections and threatened to book him in the contempt of court case if he didn’t retract his tweet.
Protests erupted at many places in the state including Mumbai. BJP’s Youth wing members protested outside Salman’s house at Bandra in Mumbai in the evening. The protestors also tried to break the police barricades and shouted slogans against the actor demanding his unconditional apology and stern action against him. Police had to take strong action to control the protesters and brought the situation under control. Immediately after this, Salman posted his apology and said that he had never advocated Yakoob Memon and he has complete faith in judicial system of the country. He further said that he was removing the tweets as they may create misunderstanding.
