Meghalaya Special Director General of Police, S.K. Jain has taken over charge as acting Director General of Police (DGP) in the state.
Jain, who is also the senior most police officer, had in the past taken charge as the top police officer before Rajiv Mehta took over as Director General in October last year. Earlier, the Meghalaya Government had sought Mehta’s extension but was turned down by the Centre.
