External Affairs Ministry has said that the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place on 6th of December of this month. It said, President Putin will be here for the 21st India-Russia Annual Summit and series of meetings will take place between India and Russia.

In a media briefing today, Official Spokesman of Ministry of External Affairs Arindam Bagchi said, India foresee a very intensive engagement during the day, culminating with the Summit. He said, Defence Minister and Russian counterpart will co-chair inter-governmental commission. He said, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will also have a bilateral meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. He further said, these meetings will be followed by the first inaugural meeting of newly instituted 22 dialogue mechanism at level of Foreign and Defence Ministers. He added that both Ministers are expected to discuss bilateral, regional, international and defence issues within this format.

Mr Bagchi said, 21st India-Russia Annual Summit will be held in the afternoon of 6th of December and India is looking forward to welcome President Putin to New Delhi for this Summit. He said, leaders will review the state and prospect of bilateral relations and discuss ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. He said, a joint statement is proposed to be issued at the end of the Summit.
