Railway Protection Force, RPF has arrested 718 touts since May this year. Railways Ministry said, 176 IRCTC authorised agents have also been arrested due to their involvement in the sale of ticket through illegal means. It said, RPF acted proactively in curbing the menace of touting and has been conducting massive and sustained drives against touting.
Future journey tickets worth 68 lakh rupees were also seized and processed for blocking. All zones have been advised to continue their efforts to curb touting and ensure availability of reserved tickets for the train journey of common passengers.
