One of the greatest fiction writers of Urdu and former professor of Aligarh Muslim University AMU, Qazi Abdus Sattar passed away today at a private hospital in Delhi.
According to family sources he Will be buried at Aligarh….
Qazi Abdul Sattar was born on 8 February 1933 at Machreta near Sitapur in UP
He has penned several Urdu novels – mainly set in historical contexts – including Shab Gazida, Dara Shikoh, Salahuddin Ayyubi, Khalid Ibn-e-Waleed, and Ghalib.
He was a Professor of Urdu Department at Aligarh Muslim University before retiring in 1991 and was the youngest Padma Shree awardee in Urdu Literature at an age of 41.
