Raksha Bandhan, the festival of a special bond between brothers and sisters, is being celebrated today across the country. On this occasion, sisters tie the colorful rakhi around the wrist of their brothers and pray for their prosperity, health and well-being. In return, brothers pledge to protect and support their sisters and present their gifts.
President Ram Nath Kovind has greeted citizens on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. In his message, Mr Kovind said the festival is a symbol of love, affection and trust. He asked everyone to resolve to build a harmonious society where the safety and dignity of women are given utmost importance and they fulfill their aspirations freely.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his wishes to all the countrymen on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.
