Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today appealed to Maoists to shun violence and come forward for peace. Addressing a public meeting organised at Sakri near Bilaspur as part of “Vikas Parv” to mark the completion of two years of NDA government, he said the government is always ready for talks if the Maoists eschew violence.
However, he maintained that the government would not remain a mute spectator if Maoists continued to unleash violence.
Referring to the completion of two years of NDA government , Singh said the people of the country have reposed their faith in NDA.
He said country’s image and pride has enhanced at the international level due to policies and schemes introduced by NDA government during the last two years.
The Home minister also distributed cheques to the beneficiaries of schemes for labourers and also premium certificates to farmers covered under crop insurance scheme.
Union minister of state for defence Rao Indrajit Singh and Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh also addressed the public meeting.
