Maharashtra government continued to raid the godowns and commercial establishments searching for illegal hoarding of pulses today. Raids in Thane, Raigad, Nasik, Kolhapur have yielded hoardings of pulses including the Tur dal, Udad, black gram and Masoor.
In Thane, the food and civil supplies machinery along with the police teams have impounded rupees 7.74 crore worth pulses in raids on five godowns in Dahisar Mori village adjoining Mumbai- Pune National Highway. In Nasik distrct, 70 commercial establishments were raided today. In Kolhapur, 1200-quintal edible oil was seized in various raids today. In all these instances, authorities have sealed the godowns and registered offences under the Essential Commodities Act.
