Ranchi based Class XII student Sarthak Siddhant, who has alleged serious irregularities in the CBSE evaluation process, met Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi at his residence on Tuesday. Siddhant was accompanied by his mother, uncle and younger brother.
Siddhant, who recently lost his father, is the son of a woman who runs a small play school in Ranchi. His actions have drawn national attention following allegations of malpractice and inconsistencies in the CBSE’s evaluation mechanism.
The meeting came shortly after Sarthak appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, where concerns surrounding the alleged discrepancies in the CBSE Class XII evaluation system were discussed. He was accompanied by his mother, uncle and younger brother.
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi praised the 17 year old for his determination and courage in bringing the issue to public attention. He reportedly congratulated Sarthak for challenging alleged flaws in the examination system despite the pressures and difficulties involved.
