Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has given consent to transfer the investigation of three cases of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The decision has been taken by Mr. Badal keeping in view the demands made by several religious organizations and family members of the alleged accused involved in the sacrilege at Faridkot.
Chief Minister’s media advisor informed that the government is keen to have all possible angles of this heinous crime thoroughly probed in a transparent manner.

The chain of sacrilege incidents had created turbulence in Punjab as the border state saw many protests and road-blocks in the last week.
