Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said imposition of President’s rule in Uttarakhand was a temporary measure and the Assembly can be revived on the basis of Governor’s report.
Talking to media, the Minister said the central government is very clear that there was a constitutional breakdown in the state because the Appropriation Bill was not passed in the Assembly.
He said there was no other way than to impose President’s rule. He said the assembly was not dissolved and it can be revived anytime. Mr Naidu said BJP respects the rule of law and the Constitution.
The Minister’s comments came a day after the Uttarakhand High Court quashed the proclamation of President’s rule in the state and revived the Congress government headed by Harish Rawat.
