UDAIPUR: (AMN)The President, Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil on Wednesday outlined the need for a second green revolution in the country to meet the growing food demand of the increasing population.

 

Inaugurated the 5th National Conference on Krishi Vigyan Kendra here President said that an estimated 70 per cent growth in agricultural sector is required, for which new agricultural techniques will have to be put into practice and more attention will have to pay for research and development. Mrs. Patil said the government, corporate sector, NGOs and other stakeholders should come together to increase productivity in the agriculture sector. Mrs. Patil suggested that farming should be made more economically viable and prosperity of farmers should be given top priority.

 

The three-day conference will focus on entrepreneurship development of the farmers. More than 1500 agriculture scientists are participating in this conference.
