Pre-monsoon showers bring respite from heat in several parts of India


Pre-monsoon rain lashed several parts of the country in last 24 hours bringing relief to people from the sultry heat. Heavy to very heavy rain was witnessed in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi today.


Cyclone Vayu has weakened and crossed Kutch district in Gujarat this morning, causing rainfall at some places in the state. Remnant of the Cyclonic Storm now lies as a low-pressure area over Kutch and adjoining areas over southwest Rajasthan. The MeT office said, rain is likely to continue till tomorrow in Kutch, Saurashtra and north Gujarat regions because of its impact.


AIR Jaipur correspondent reports, pre-monsoon rains lashed parts of Rajasthan due to the effect of Cyclone Vayu. In Madhya Pradesh, light showers occurred in Indore, Gwalior and Bhopal divisions and some other places.
