Former Prime Minister and the Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Deve Gowda has said that the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “diminishing” day by day and NDA’s failure in the Assembly polls in Delhi and Bihar proved that he is no longer powerful. He was speaking at an election meeting at Vadakara, in Kozhikode district in Kerala, seeking support for LDF candidate.

Mr Deve Gowda said that the situation of BJP will be pathetic in the five States where Assembly elections are being held.

Janata Dal (Secular) is contesting in Kerala as part of the Left Democratic Front, while Janata Dal (United) is part of the UDF. Mr Deve Gowda also termed as “misleading,” Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s claim that the fight in Kerala was only between the UDF and the BJP, and said there was no fight in any constituency discarding the LDF. He also criticized that the Congress and the NDA are trying to split secular votes in Kerala.
