Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed recent terror attacks in Brussels as attack on human values. Addressing media with his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel in Brussels today, he called upon all nations to fight the menace of terrorism. Condemning the recent terror attacks in Brussels, the Prime Minister said that India shared the grief of the people and stands with people in solidarity.

He also stressed to resume discussion on mutual legal assistance treaty in this regard. Prime minister today also met the top CEOs of Belgium in Egmonte Palace at Brussels.Addressing the gathering of CEOs in Egmont palace, Prime Minister Modi said that the scourge of terrorism ​has ​increased as never before and it is imp​ortant for ​all nations to fight the menace​ together​. India has been battling it for 40 years​, he said​.​ Stressing upon the mutual relations with Belgium, he said that we have ties of blood with Belgium. 100 years ago 130,000 soldiers from India fought in Belgium and 9000 made the Supreme sacrifice​.

The Prime Minister invited Belgian businessmen and CEOs to be a part of ambitious Skill India , Start Up India and Digital India programs. He said that both the countries shared a long history of friendship .Mr Modi said that India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
​Hailing the businessmen of the Belgium and European Union, he said that ​India offers a huge opportunity – not just a market but as a huge talent pool​ to the world. ​He added that India is developing ​its port sector in a big way. In addition inland waterways offer opportunities for Belgian businesses​.

The Prime Minister and his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel launched Asia’s biggest telescope, the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences or ARIES built with Belgian assistance at Nainital remotely from Brussels. Referring to the cooperation between the two countries on various projects, Mr Modi said even sky is not the limit. Mr Modi also congratulated the scientists of both the countries for the successful inauguration of the telescope.

Prior to it upon reaching the historical Egmont palace, Modi was given a ceremonial welcome. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today also paid tribute to the victims of the Brussels terror attacks in which over 30 people, including an Indian, lost their lives. Mr Modi laid a wreath of white flowers at the Maalbeek Metro station in the Belgian capital where a suicide

bomber blew himself up killing scores of passengers, including Raghavendran Ganeshan, an Infosys employee from Bengaluru.
