Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure and industrial projects worth nearly ₹9,400 crore in Telangana, aimed at boosting manufacturing, improving connectivity, and generating employment across the state.
Addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister said India has been able to manage the global energy crisis triggered by the ongoing West Asia conflict due to timely measures taken by the Centre. He urged citizens to use imported petroleum products carefully and only according to genuine necessity, saying restrained fuel consumption would help conserve foreign exchange reserves and lessen the impact of international instability.
Mr Modi also highlighted India’s rapid progress in the renewable energy sector, noting that the country has emerged as one of the world’s leading solar power producers. He pointed to the government’s push for ethanol blending in petrol and the expansion of cleaner energy systems such as piped natural gas and CNG infrastructure as part of a broader strategy to diversify energy sources and reduce dependence on imports.
Calling India a nation moving ahead on a “reforms express,” the Prime Minister said the Centre remains committed to accelerating infrastructure development and fulfilling the aspirations of people in Telangana.
Among the key projects launched was the PM MITRA Park, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, being developed at an estimated cost of ₹1,700 crore. It is the country’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park and is designed to create an integrated textile ecosystem under the Centre’s “5F” vision — farm, fibre, factory, fashion and foreign markets.
The Prime Minister said India’s textile sector once played a transformative role in the country’s economic rise and that the Warangal textile park would give fresh momentum to manufacturing and exports while creating large-scale employment opportunities.
Mr Modi also laid the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway-167 between Gudebellur and Mahabubnagar under the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor project. In addition, development works for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district were launched to strengthen industrial growth and logistics infrastructure.
Several railway and logistics projects were also inaugurated, including sections of the Kazipet–Vijayawada rail multi-tracking corridor, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass, and a new Greenfield Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants terminal in Hyderabad.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated Sindhu Hospital, a large cancer-focused multi-super speciality healthcare institution. Spread over 2.1 million square feet, the 18-floor hospital has 1,500 beds, 29 advanced operation theatres and facilities for chemotherapy, radiation therapy, cancer surgeries, bone marrow transplants and critical care across more than 33 super-specialities.
Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and several senior leaders were present during the programme.
