Dengue1Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed central health officials to assess the requirements of Tamil Nadu to help the state control the spread of dengue. This has been told by the state Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam in Delhi yesterday.

He met the Prime Minister in the national capital, first time after the merger of his faction with the AIADMK ruling camp led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy.

Later, addressing the press at Tamil Nadu Bhavan, he said he met the Prime Minister out of courtesy. He said he has apprised him of the prevailing dengue situation and said the Prime Minister has assured him that the central team would visit the state and assess the needs to be provided by the Centre.

He said he had also submitted to the Prime Minister a memorandum from the state Chief Minister seeking central help in approving various development projects.
