Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated BJP workers and leaders for the exceptional win in Assam. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, this win is a historic by all standards. He termed the victory as phenomenal. The Prime Minister said, BJP will do everything possible to fulfil dreams and aspirations of the people of Assam and take the state’s development journey to new heights. He said, across India, people are placing their faith in BJP and see it as the party that can usher in all-round and inclusive development.

He spoke to BJP chief ministerial candidate Sarbanand Sonowal and congratulated him for the performance of the BJP and the efforts through the campaign. Mr Modi also spoke to Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa and CPI(M) leader V S Achuthanandan and congratulated them for their impressive victory.

Mr Modi lauded the efforts of party workers of Tamil Nadu and West Bengal saying that they put up a spirited performance and will continue to raise people’s issues there. Mr Modi said, in Kerala, the persistence of the Party has paid off today and BJP will become an even stronger voice of the people.

He saluted all those who built the BJP in Kerala, brick by brick, decade after decade saying that it is due to them that BJP is seeing this day. Mr Modi thanked the people of Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala for their support and assured them that his party and Central government government will always work hard and serve them.
